Ted Musgrave No. 59 Team ASE Toyota Tundra San Bernardino County 200 Race Preview
Ted Musgrave on California Speedway:
“I’m excited to be heading back to California Speedway. It’s one of my favorite tracks and one that I have always ran well at. I won there back in 2001 in my first truck start at the track, and came back to repeat that win the following two years to make it three in a row. I’ve also finished in the top-five in all of my truck series starts at the track. We’re looking for win number four this time. We have a great truck that the guys back at the HT Motorsports shop have been working really hard on to get ready. We want to get out there and have a good performance and be in the position to challenge for the win at the end.”
Ted Musgrave on Racing at California:
“Winning at California isn’t always about just having a good truck. There is a lot of strategy with pitting and fuel mileage, and a good amount of luck is involved. Hopefully heading in to Saturday’s race we will have a little luck on our side again. We want to have a good performance and be where we need to be at the end of the race to put our No. 59 Team ASE Toyota Tundra in Victory Lane.”
Ted Musgrave Daytona Recap:
Musgrave and the No. 59 Team ASE Toyota Tundra saw their shot at victory lane end early in the Chevy Silverado 250 last weekend after getting caught up in ten truck pile-up just 20 laps in to the race. Musgrave was riding the center lane with no where to turn when he was engulfed in smoke from the wreck ahead of him, getting spun around and having severe damage done to his Toyota Tundra. Musgrave was able to return to the track midway through the race, gaining four spots to finish the night in 28th.
Ted Musgrave to Visit Toyota Headquarters:
“Also for me over the last few years, California has an added importance because it is close to Toyota headquarters in Torrance, California. They have a big Toyota Motorsports Day at the headquarters early in the week for all of the Toyota drivers. With all of the support that Toyota gives our teams in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, it is neat to spend a day and go to the corporate office and meet all of the folks there - all adding to the special week in California both on and off the track.”
Ted Musgrave’s NASCAR Stats at California Speedway:
Heading to California Speedway, Musgrave has one of the best, if not the best history, of drivers entered to compete at the 2-mile track. In seven consecutive starts with the first one dating back to 2001, Musgrave has accumulated an impressive 2.6 average finish; including winning three in a row in his first three NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts at the track. When he wasn’t finishing first, Musgrave was following close behind the leaders, posting top-five finishes in each of the last four events. Along with his truck series starts, Musgrave raced three (then) Winston Cup races, earning his best finish of fourth coming in 1997 while driving for owner Jack Roush.
