Musgrave Disappointed with 20th in Milwaukee

Ted Musgrave drove the No. 59 Team ASE/Harris Trucking Toyota to a disappointing 20th-place finish after being caught up in a mid-race melee in Friday night’s Camping World RV Sales 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at The Milwaukee Mile.

Musgrave, from Franklin, Wisconsin, was caught with no where to go when drivers in the top five started spinning off turn four on lap 100.

“We were all running two and three wide just after a restart,” Musgrave said. “They started to spin up there in front of us and the spotter called for me to back it way down. I got it slowed down as much as I could and avoided a couple of them but the track was blocked and I couldn’t avoid the last one. We ended up with the toe-in knocked out and the right front fender and splitter were killed. We were able to get the suspension fixed and we got the body back as close as we could but it was just too wrecked to do anything with.”

Musgrave was disappointed to not come away with a top ten run at his home race.

“I put a lot of extra effort into this race every year,” said Musgrave, the 2001 and 2004 Milwaukee winner. “It’s very disappointing to come here and leave with a bad finish. It’s put us in a pretty big hole in the points too.”

Musgrave now sits 15th in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship standings, 149 points behind Chad McCumbee for the tenth position. He currently sits just 23 points behind Colin Braun for the 14th position.

Next up for Musgrave and the No. 59 Team ASE/Harris Trucking Toyota is the O’Reilly 200 at Memphis Motorsports Park on June 28. The race will be broadcast live on SPEED starting at 8:30 P.M. Eastern, with live radio coverage on MRN Radio on select affiliates nationwide as well as Sirius NASCAR Radio Channel 128.
