Double File Restarts: “NASCAR implemented a new double file restart procedure for the Sprint Cup Series in Pocono last week. And the rumor is the Camping World Truck Series will be getting it in the coming weeks as well. I’ve always said I am a fan first and a competitor second. I think this ruling is long overdue. Every competitor out there has a 50-50 chance of making their track position better or worse. It’s a gamble the way it is set up right now, but for the fans it is one of the best changes NASCAR has made in a long time. When faced with the pitting decision you can take the gamble and stay out hoping for that next caution which could greatly improve your racing position but if you get caught out there, then it doesn’t help you. It throws a lot more into the mix and will make it so much more exciting for the fans.”
Green Flag Runs: “Michigan has been known to have a lot of green flag runs like we saw at Texas Motor Speedway last weekend. So once again we will be watching tire wear and really focusing on getting the truck as low on the race track as we possibly can. Michigan is about endurance, and being able to hold the gas pedal down for as long as you possibly can.”
