News and Notes:

  • The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series veteran will be making his ninth start at Nashville Superspeedway this Saturday.
  • This Saturday Cook will be racing the HT Motorsports Toyota Tundra Chassis called Demon in the Volunteer State.  Cook raced it in Kentucky (15th) and the team has worked feverishly to get the truck put back together after it sustained some damage when Cook tangled with another competitor there only two weeks ago.
  • In Nashville Terry Cook has no DNF’s and has completed 95% of the laps he has attempted there.
  • Crew Chief Danny Rollins is a native of the Nashville area.  He also won a race on the concrete oval in Nashville in 2004 and received the infamous Gibson Guitar in Victory Lane.
  • In 167 Speedway races, Cook has four wins, three poles, 16 top-five and 65 top-10 finishes.  He has led 514 laps on this particular type of race track.
  • HT Motorsports Owner Jim Harris is still the only owner in the NCWTS who has both teams sitting in the top 10 in points.

Danny Rollins on What it Takes to Win at Nashville – “Usually in Nashville you fight being able to turn in the middle of the corners the whole weekend.  You have to work on making it turn without being loose off and that poses a challenge.  That track requires more discipline for the driver usually because he has to drive it with a different style and use more finesse to get around it.  You can't over drive the race track and if you do then you will lose valuable time each turn.  So this weekend will be a lot of pressure on the driver to drive outside of his comfort zone and on us to get it turning in the corners.”

Danny Rollins on Racing in His Hometown – “It’s probably more pressure to race at home because of my friends and family being there watching.  They all have high expectations every week when watching it on TV but when they are there with me it's even more.  But at the same time it's nice to go back home and visit and see all those people who do support you through thick and thin. So I always look forward to this race and being with them.”

Cajun Industries Safety Incentive Winner:  Cajun Industries created a safety incentive program whereby front-line supervisors without any safety incidents are placed in a drawing each month and out of those supervisors, a winner will be chosen to travel to the race track as an honorary Crew Chief to sit beside the team’s Crew Chief Danny Rollins.  June’s contest winner is Danny Laurent.  He will be attending Nashville Superspeedway as his reward.  Plus, his name will be displayed across the rear of the race truck in recognition of his good record.
