Former winner sitting in the top 10 how do you use that for this race in Martinsville? “We go into this race just like we would the rest of the year. We are going for the win. At this point for us we don't have anything to lose championship wise, so we can just go for it. We need to get those good finishes to stay in the top 10. The last three weeks off have been beneficial for us to do some testing, and get our trucks prepared for the final five races this year. The only difference in Martinsville than the rest of the races is for us to win at our home base. It would be great to get Jim his first win there but we want to win all of them. I am sure Jim would take a win anywhere!”
What could we do better than last Martinsville? “Qualifying is key to making the race easier in Martinsville. When I won there I started further back in the field, but this day and age, you cannot do that. It is so hard to pass in Martinsville. So if we could get a better starting position for our team then we could use the track position to our advantage. This time we will focus on that.”
What could we do the same? “The same thing we do every week, focus on getting the truck to handle well. In Martinsville the truck needs to rotate in the center and needs to have excellent forward bite. The engine needs good power and the brakes need to be in great condition. Martinsville takes finesse, so if the truck handles well, the rest is up to me.”
